Winners of the ABIM Foundation’s fifth annual Building Trust Essay Contest offer fresh perspectives on what professionalism in medicine should look like—grounded in listening, collaboration, humility, and human connection.

With support from the Building Trust: Advancing Health Equity grant program, University of Maryland Capital Region Health is bringing food support directly into residency training, combining ongoing patient care with access to an onsite “food pharmacy” and tracking how the approach affects health outcomes over time.
